Lache Pas La Patate!

The Maw Maw Walker is a family fun event that helps revitalize Downtown Houma and supports our local businesses.
While participation in the Maw Maw Walk doesn't require registration, paying the $20 fee allows you to enter the costume contest, enter to win raffle prize, and receive exclusive Maw Maw Walker swag.
The funds raised at the Annual Bayou Terrebonne Boucherie go toward constructing the Bayou Terrebonne Paddle Trail. The first of its kind in Terrebonne Parish, it will give residents and tourists unprecedented access to the bayou through a series of floating docks and launches throughout the parish's waterways. The first floating launch, located in downtown Houma, will promote both the health of our citizens in a way that is fun and unique to our region, and the health of our community's main artery, Bayou Terrebonne.

Thanks to the generous support from The Bayou Terrebonne Boucherie, we’ve illuminated this stunning historic landmark at the heart of downtown Houma, bringing warmth, visibility, and pride back to our community’s center.
While our main focus remains building the Bayou Terrebonne Paddle Trail, we’re also thrilled to tackle smaller, impactful projects that breathe new life into downtown, one lightbulb, one step at a time.

Historically a bandstand was considered the center of the community. The Hache Grant's mission is as such to bring back the sense of community and pride within that community. With this thought process, we decided our first project would be to replace the bandstand that once existed in the downtown Houma Court House Square. It is located on the corner of Church Street and Main Street in the front corner of the Courthouse square.

What started as holding some supplies at our home base Bayou Terrebonne Distillers quickly turned into filling a larger need. From collecting supplies and either distributing them Bayou Terrebonne Grocery to loading a trailer and bringing the supplies down the bayous to the people, we have distributed everything from ice and gas to hot food and supplies. These supplies have included everything from diapers to generators. We have a relief effort currently going where you can Venmo to @Hache-Grant. Funds collected will go to those directly affected the most severely in the region. Another services we will be offering is a coordination of places to go for food like restaurants to which roofing and contractors have a successfully assisted residents in our area. We have partnered with Houma Strong to provide this list. You can go to www.houmastrong.com for resources.
